Retreat Summary

Join Cindy Cunningham for a generative and restorative weekend at the Porches. This writing retreat is located just two hours from Richmond, nestled in the hilly countryside. You will enjoy a minimum of four small group writing sessions, free time to walk to the river, nap or write; and a chance to meet one on one with Cindy to talk about your writing. Writing sessions may take place on the expansive namesake porches or in the common area of the beautifully restored farmhouse. There is a full kitchen where you can prepare meals and enjoy good company. Give yourself the gift of soul restoration, fellowship, healing, and writing your heart out, 10 minutes at a time.

Retreat Schedule

Arrive Friday between 3pm and 5pm, settle in and enjoy the atmosphere. In the evening, we will gather and write, setting our intention for the weekend.

We reconvene on Saturday morning after breakfast to write in a group.

Saturday afternoon allows time for solo writing, walks around the grounds, reading, and relaxation. You'll have the opportunity to meet with Cindy one on one to chat about your writing intentions, projects, or about one specific piece of writing.

After dinner Saturday night, we will have another writing session and/or informal reading of a sample of our works. We gather on Sunday morning for one last group writing time, followed by free time for writing, walking, or relaxation before checkout at noon.

Life in 10 Minutes is dedicated to providing a safe environment for everyone. At this time we require all retreat attendees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If you are unable to be vaccinated, we hope you will still join us for our virtual classes and retreats!
